The deputy chief physician of the State Institution Central Forensic Medical Examination Centre of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was exposed on receiving an illegal benefit. She was served a notice of suspicion of trading in influence (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the investigation, the deputy chief physician promised to assist a citizen liable for military service in obtaining a disability group II in exchange for $2,000. Law enforcement officers detained the official in accordance with Article 208 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code while she was receiving the money.
During the searches, they seized almost $20,000, disability documents, medical records, personal files and other evidence of criminal activity.
The Prosecutor General's Office reported that a preventive measure has been imposed on the suspect, but did not specify what kind of measure.
