The US Department of Defence has announced another military aid package for Ukraine worth about $275 million.
This is stated on the Pentagon's website.
The US Department of Defence noted that US President Joe Biden had announced a new aid package to put Ukraine in the strongest possible position. This package is the seventieth tranche of equipment that the United States will provide to Ukraine from the Ministry of Defence's stockpile, starting in August 2021.
The new US aid package includes ammunition for missile systems, artillery and anti-tank weapons. In particular
- ammunition for HIMARS;
- 155-mm and 105-mm artillery ammunition;
- 60-mm and 81-mm mortar shells;
- unmanned aerial vehicles;
- Optical tracking and wire guided missiles (TOW);
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
- small arms and ammunition;
- equipment and ammunition for demolition operations;
- chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence equipment;
- spare parts and auxiliary equipment.
US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin confirmed that the Joe Biden administration will send and allow Ukraine to use US anti-personnel mines to fight Russian troops.
