Ukraine’s food exports support 400 million people across 100 countries. Since the launch of the Grain From Ukraine programme, 20 million people have been saved from hunger.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this at the Third International Grain from Ukraine Conference in Kyiv.

“The programme is truly successful and will continue to expand. I want to thank everyone who makes it possible… It is not only Europe, which is, of course, very important to us. It is also Africa and Asia—the whole world. These are the countries we have really helped: Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Nigeria, Gaza, and others,” Zelenskyy said.

The President emphasized that Ukraine remains one of the world’s largest donors to global food security, continuing to export food despite its ongoing war with Russia.

Zelenskyy pointed out that by blocking Ukrainian ports, Russia aims to disrupt food supplies to vulnerable nations and create dependency. He called for united efforts to safeguard food security, secure supply routes, and protect the export of critical goods.

“Only during the operation of the food export corridor in the Black Sea—from July last year to this month—321 port infrastructure facilities were damaged by Russian missiles and Iranian drones. More than 20 civilian ships, including those belonging to other countries, were damaged in the attacks. We are not talking about Ukrainian vessels. Over 60 targeted strikes have hit food infrastructure,” Zelenskyy noted.
