On Monday, 16 December, the Italian government approved the allocation of the 10th military aid package for Ukraine. This was reported by ANSA.

Defence Minister Guido Crosetto will announce the approval of the 10th military aid package for Ukraine against the backdrop of its fight against Russian aggression on Wednesday, sources said.

The contents of the military aid package are classified.

"Italy stands with Kyiv in its full commitment to a just peace that cannot end with Ukraine's surrender," said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. Tayani also reminded that work is underway on "the second peace conference, also with the participation of Russia, with partners such as China, India and Brazil". He added that during the meeting of the Group of Seven foreign ministers in Fujairah, "we reaffirmed the central importance of supporting Ukraine's energy security and its recovery".

  • Earlier, the media reported that Italy would approve the 10th package of military assistance to Ukraine by the end of 2024.
  • In September, Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto said that Ukraine would receive another Samp/T air defence system.
