At dawn on 25 December, Russians launched at least seven ballistic missile strikes on Kharkiv. The attack injured six people and caused multiple fires and damage to civilian infrastructure.
According to Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, and Oleh Synyehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the strikes hit the Saltiv, Kyiv, and Nemyshlyanskyy districts of the city.
The Kharkiv police reported that the shelling began around 6 a.m. Three men aged 39, 45, and 46 sustained shrapnel wounds. One of them was treated at the scene, while the other two were hospitalised.
The attacks damaged residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, and private vehicles. Several fires broke out as a result.
Emergency responders, including police officers, rescuers, medics, and volunteers, arrived at the affected areas promptly. Investigators have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, addressing violations of the laws and customs of war.
