Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico will not go to Ukraine this Friday at the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This was stated by Deputy Speaker Tibor Gáspár during his visit to Russia, Yevropeyska Pravda reports, citing information from a pro-Kremlin agency.

Gaspar called Fico's visit to Kyiv impossible. He said he ‘thinks it will not happen’.

‘Yesterday, Prime Minister Fico published an open letter to Zelenskyy and invited him to talks. Zelenskyy replied that he should come to Kyiv on Friday. This is impossible. I don't think it will happen,’ he said.

Pro-Russian Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has repeatedly made accusations against Kyiv after Ukraine stopped transiting Russian gas. He recently published an open letter to President Zelenskyy asking for a meeting to resolve the gas supply issue. Zelenskyy replied that if Fico wanted to, he could come to Kyiv.

However, so far, Slovak politicians have only visited Russia to discuss gas issues.

Slovakia, like other countries, was warned in advance about the suspension of Russian gas transit. Only it and Hungary were among the EU countries to accuse Ukraine.
