On 24 February, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Council António Costa arrived in Kyiv.
This was stated in their posts on X.
"We are in Kyiv today, because Ukraine is Europe. In this fight for survival, it is not only the destiny of Ukraine that is at stake. It’s Europe’s destiny," von der Leyen wrote.

As the video shows, she and António Costa were met at the Kyiv railway station by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, and Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
