The State Emergency Service of Kyiv Region has reported on the aftermath of the Russian strike on the Chornobyl NPP Shelter.
“As of 23 February, no new smouldering centres have been detected. The situation is being monitored using drones with thermal imaging and handheld thermal imagers. Climbers and rescuers from the State Emergency Service are prepared to intervene if necessary,” the rescuers stated.
The radiation background at the Chornobyl NPP site remains within normal limits, posing no threat to the public.
