SBU drones have de-energised and shut down the Novovelychkivska oil pumping station in Russia’s Krasnodar Region.
This was reported to LB.ua by a source within the SBU.
On 20 February, an SBU operation halted the Novovelychkivska oil pumping station. This facility is one of the key points for oil transportation in the Kuban, supplying oil to the Afipskyy and Ilskyy refineries.
According to sources, the drone strike hit the 110/35/10 kV power substation supplying the refinery. The substation caught fire, resulting in a complete blackout and an emergency shutdown of oil pumping operations. Russian authorities are currently assessing the damage.
“This marks the eighth successful SBU special operation targeting Russian oil refineries and pumping stations since the start of the year. Each such strike inflicts multimillion-dollar losses on Russia and disrupts fuel supplies to its army,” the source said.
- On 18 February, the Defence Forces struck the Ilskyy oil refinery in Krasnodar Region, along with two oil pumping stations, triggering a large-scale fire at the refinery.
