The operation of Ukrainian forces in Kursk Region continues, and there is no encirclement of Ukrainian troops, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, referring to a report by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyy, on the situation at the front.
Zelenskyy added that the units are carryin
g out their tasks exactly as required.
“Thanks to Ukrainian forces in Kursk Region, a significant number of Russian troops have been pulled back from other areas. Our forces continue to restrain Russian and North Korean units in Kursk Region,” he said.
According to the president, the Russian army is amassing forces along Ukraine’s eastern border, indicating an intent to strike at Sumy Region.
“We understand this and will counteract it. I would like all our partners to recognise what Putin is planning, what he is preparing for, and what he will disregard. The accumulation of Russian forces makes it clear that Moscow intends to ignore diplomacy going forward. Russia’s prolongation of the war is evident. We are ready to provide our partners with full and accurate information on the situation at the front, in Kursk Region, and along the border,” Zelenskyy added.
He also stressed that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction has been stabilised.
- Yesterday, Zelenskyy told reporters that the situation in the Kursk sector was difficult but that the objectives of the operation had been achieved. According to the head of state, the Defence Forces had to push back the occupiers from Pokrovsk, Kharkiv, and Sumy.
