Special Operations Forces struck the Volgograd oil refinery last night. According to preliminary information, the refinery’s operations have been suspended.
This facility plays a role in meeting the needs of the Russian armed forces. It is the largest producer of fuel and lubricants in Russia’s Southern Federal District, according to the Special Operations Forces command.
The annual processing capacity is 15.7 million tonnes, accounting for 5.6% of all oil refining in Russia.
“Special Operations Forces continue to conduct asymmetric actions to disrupt the enemy,” the defenders commented on the strike.
- The Volgograd oil refinery was previously attacked in August.
- Defence forces continue to target the aggressor’s oil facilities in order to reduce the Russian army’s supply of fuel and lubricants and to inflict damage on Russia’s economy.
