Today, 17 September, the Verkhovna Rada ratified a 100-year agreement with the United Kingdom.
This was announced during a broadcast of the parliamentary session.
It should be noted that the agreement includes a defence component, economic and technological elements, as well as cooperation in the information and cultural spheres.
In particular, the parties will deepen defence cooperation, strengthen their military and defence industrial capabilities – including the development of armed forces and cooperation between defence industrial bases – enhance Ukraine’s defence procurement systems, and transfer technologies for the joint production of defence products (including through joint initiatives). The agreement also places a particular focus on innovation and on strengthening the protection of intellectual property rights for transferred technologies, while aligning them with NATO requirements.
It should be recalled that Ukraine and the United Kingdom signed this historic 100-year agreement in January this year.
