On Tuesday night, Russians fired strike drones at Odesa. Serious damage to infrastructure has been reported in the city. As of 15:21, the number of victims has risen to three, with 23 people injured.
‘The tragic consequences of the night attack on Odesa — three people have already died. Unfortunately, the death of another person has been confirmed. Rescuers found the body of a woman born in 1974. Our condolences to her family and friends,’ Oleh Kiper said on Telegram.
Both individuals died in a house on Prokhorivska Street. The search operation is ongoing. According to Oleh Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Russian drones struck residential buildings and a construction site, as well as a church in the city centre and a kindergarten. A fitness centre, educational institutions and cars were also damaged.
The most difficult situation is in the Khadzhibey district, where part of a residential building has been destroyed. There may be people under the rubble, and rescue operations are ongoing. According to the police, three people may remain trapped.
“Nine people have been hospitalised, including two children (girls born in 2013 and 2008) and a woman who is 39 weeks pregnant. One person is in serious condition, and eight others are in moderate condition,” said Oleh Kiper, head of the Military Administration.
“The attack damaged a two-storey residential building. At another address, an apartment on the second floor of a two-storey building was destroyed. Apartments on the second to fourth floors of a four-storey residential building were also destroyed. A fire broke out on the fourth and fifth floors of a nine-storey building after it was hit. A cultural and religious building was damaged, windows in neighbouring buildings were shattered, and cars were damaged,” rescuers said.
Kiper specified that educational institutions were damaged. These include kindergarten No. 14, where the blast wave damaged windows and interior doors, and the Odesa Professional Lyceum of Construction and Architecture.
“The institution had only recently suffered as a result of another enemy drone attack, which destroyed more than 200 windows and damaged some of the teaching laboratories. Last night, the enemy treacherously attacked the lyceum again. One of the best vocational schools in the city and the region suffered significant damage. A fire broke out in the building, which was quickly extinguished by firefighters,” he said.
