An exhibition telling the stories of eight Ukrainian women who moved to the United Kingdom after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine will take place in the British county of Warwickshire, the BBC reports.

The local community organisation Belveder Leamington is hosting the exhibition, Voices of Ukraine, at All Saints Parish Church. It will run from 3 February to 3 March. According to the organisers, the aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness among the British public about the war in Ukraine and to collect funds for humanitarian aid.

The women’s stories will be presented as audio recordings alongside photographs of the participants and their families. The exhibition will also feature a collection of previously unpublished photographs taken during the first days of the full-scale war in 2022.

“We settled on the idea of an exhibition to raise awareness among the British public that, four years on, the war is still ongoing. From various media outlets, as well as from friends and relatives, we keep hearing the same question: ‘What is happening there?’,” said volunteer Oliver Ansell-Hodges. He added that the organisers wanted to understand what life was like for the women in Ukraine, the paths that brought them to the UK, as well as their dreams and reflections on the war.

During the exhibition, organisers aim to raise £10,000. The funds collected will be used to purchase and transport humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including a vehicle, its repair, and essential supplies — ranging from tourniquets to Easter treats for children living in orphanages.
