As part of efforts to reduce Russia’s defence-industrial capabilities, on 17 March units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck facilities of the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant in the city of Staraya Russa, Novgorod Region.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The enterprise specialises in the full-cycle repair and modernisation of military transport aircraft and their components. The plant has its own runway, allowing it to receive heavy aircraft directly on site,” the statement said.
As a result of the strike, a hangar used to service Ilyushin Il-76 and Let L-410 Turbolet aircraft was damaged on the plant’s premises.

- On 16 March, units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces also struck infrastructure at the Aviastar aircraft manufacturing plant near the city of Ulyanovsk. Several aircraft located at the facility sustained damage of varying degrees.
