É Tudo Verdade festival in Brazil to screen documentaries on the war in Ukraine

The É Tudo Verdade International Documentary Film Festival, taking place in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, will feature two films about the war in Ukraine, made by foreign directors. The Embassy of Ukraine in Brazil announced this on its Facebook page.

In particular, the programme includes the film Night Shift (2025) by documentary filmmaker Megumi Lim, who is working in Ukraine during the full-scale war. The film depicts the lives of night workers in Kharkiv during the curfew. It runs for 29 minutes, was produced in Ukraine, and will be screened with Portuguese subtitles.

The director will personally present the film at the festival and take part in Q&A sessions following the screenings. Night Shift has been recognised at international film festivals, including the Kyiv International Short Film Festival and the Berlin Indie Film Festival.

Also on the festival programme is the film Children in the Fire (2025) by director Evgeny Afineevsky (USA). The film is dedicated to Ukrainian children affected by the war and combines documentary footage with animation.

The screenings will take place from 9 to 18 April at various venues in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
