Ukraine and Canada are launching a joint programme for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The project involves the launch of production of Ukrainian reconnaissance drones in Canada. The drones manufactured under the programme will be supplied to the Ukrainian Defence Forces.
The relevant agreement was signed by the heads of the two countries’ defence ministries.
As part of the agreement, a new joint venture, Airlogix-Sentinel, is being established between the Ukrainian defence technology company Airlogix and the Canadian drone manufacturer Sentinel Research and Development.
“The project, which will be implemented with the support of the governments of Ukraine and Canada, will accelerate the delivery of equipment to Ukrainian servicemen for reconnaissance and operational planning,” the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence said.
The ministry added that the initiative will help expand Canada’s production capacity in critical technologies while providing access to effective solutions for modern warfare.
