Ukraine is launching the TrophyLab platform — providing open access to technologies from Russian weapon systems for partners worldwide, Defence Minister Mykhaylo Fedorov has said.
“Each piece of Russian equipment captured on the battlefield is not just a trophy. It is knowledge about how the enemy’s weapons work,” Fedorov wrote.
He noted that since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian military units, research institutions and scientific centres have been analysing captured equipment — studying its components, technological solutions, and vulnerabilities in order to develop more effective countermeasures more quickly.
This knowledge is now being opened to those working to strengthen defence capabilities.
The Ministry of Defence is launching TrophyLab — a platform providing verified users with access to information on modern Russian weapons.
Ukraine will share insights into Russian technologies with international partners. Companies, research centres and governments in the free world will be able to study Russian missiles and other types of weaponry in detail. This is intended to accelerate the development of effective countermeasures and strengthen joint efforts in support of Ukraine’s defence.
The platform will provide access to research outputs on captured equipment for:
- Ukrainian defence technology manufacturers
- military units
- scientific institutions
- international partners supporting Ukraine
Users will have access to technical documentation, research findings and analytical reports on modern Russian weapons.
In addition, the platform will allow requests for physical examination of captured systems.
Several modes of interaction with the equipment are planned — ranging from non-destructive study to full dismantling or destructive testing.
This approach enables engineers to test their own solutions against real enemy hardware and significantly shorten the development cycle for counter-technologies.
