Hemingway Knows Nothing will be published by a British publishing house in September, Artur Dron announced on his Facebook page.
The translation was done by Hanna Leliv. The literary editor of the edition is Hugh Robert.
“Hugh, I am deeply grateful for everything you do for Ukraine and for increasing the visibility of our culture in Britain!” Dron wrote. “You know, maybe I won’t go ahead with my threats to arrange a public speaking event for you in Lviv in Ukrainian, just as you did for me in London in English. But come back here again and explain how you called the Royal Marines and asked how they address each other, in order to translate as accurately as possible what we call the unique word ‘pobratym’.”
Hemingway Knows Nothing is a collection of short prose — a soldier’s testimony about the experience of a major war, faith on the front line, brotherhood among soldiers, fear and hope, death and love.
