The SBU struck hangars housing fighter jets at the Saky military airfield in Crimea, according to a press release from the security service.

“Carrying out the tasks set by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy as part of a 40-day operation to influence the Russian Federation, the SBU delivered a successful strike on the Saky military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea,” the Security Service said.

The operation targeted the airfield’s infrastructure, including hangars with fighter jets.

Five SBU drone hits on hangars where aircraft were stored have been confirmed.

According to preliminary information, Su-30 and Su-30SM fighter jets were inside two hangars at the time of the strike. After the attack, a fire was recorded in the hangar that housed a Su-30SM, indicating the target was successfully hit.

The estimated cost of each such aircraft ranges from $30 million to $50 million, depending on the configuration.
