On the night of 5 August, a massive Russian attack destroyed Nova Poshta’s sorting center in Kyiv. The company reported this on Facebook.
Russian forces used cluster munitions, killing three people. They included two drivers from a partner carrier and an employee of a contracting company. Eight more people were injured.
Nova Poshta said it is in constant contact with the families of those killed and injured. The company promises to provide them with the necessary assistance.
An assessment of the consequences of the attack is currently underway. Customers will be compensated the full declared value of damaged shipments. The company said it will contact each customer individually and explain the compensation procedure.
“Despite yet another attack, Nova Poshta continues to operate across Ukraine. Over the years of the full-scale war, we have built a resilient operating system that makes it possible to ensure continuity of work even in the most difficult conditions,” the statement said.

- The main target of the attack on the night of 5 August was warehouse facilities belonging to civilian businesses, President Zelenskyy said.
- The Russian military struck sites unrelated to the war: a brewing company, building materials warehouses, and civilian logistics. As of 9 a.m., 17 people were reported killed and 44 injured in Kyiv and the surrounding region.
