Five Ukrainian teenagers have been evacuated from temporarily occupied territory.
This was reported by Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.
“Among those now in territory controlled by Ukraine is a 17-year-old girl. Her journey was not easy: because of complications with documents, she had to wait several days for them to be processed at an embassy far from her family. But she did not give up on her desire to return to Ukraine. She wanted to live here, study, get an education, and build her future in a free country. Today, the young Ukrainian is with her grandmother, who has become her anchor and support,” the ombudsman said.
Lubinets added that four other teenagers also decided to study and live in territory controlled by Ukraine and likewise wanted to leave.
“...Many Ukrainians whom we manage to evacuate do not have Ukrainian documents, or their documents have expired. So our task is not only to organise a safe route. We coordinate the resolution of documentation and other issues, help people legally cross the border, receive the necessary medical care and social protection, restore documents, and adapt,” the ombudsman noted.
