Russian strikes have caused power outages in six regions and in Kyiv. The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is also without electricity.

Ukrenergo said that as of this morning, consumers in Kyiv and in the Kyiv, Donetsk, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv regions are without power as a result of Russian strikes. Emergency repair and restoration work is already under way wherever security conditions currently allow. Power engineers are doing everything possible to restore electricity to all affected customers as quickly as possible.

During an air-raid alert, a high-voltage line supplying the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant also lost power. As a result, for the 15th time since the start of this year, the ZNPP switched to operating on diesel generators. They will be able to inspect the line to identify damage only when security conditions allow.

Electricity consumption is in line with seasonal levels. Today, August 20, as of 09:30, it was at the same level as yesterday.

Yesterday, August 19, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening. It was the same as the peak on Tuesday, August 18.

Ukrenergo is urging people to shift active electricity use today to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently — from 10:00 to 16:00. It is advisable to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances from 18:00 to 22:00.

The situation in the power system may change. People are advised to follow updates on the websites and official social media pages of regional power distribution companies.
