The Defense Forces are conducting operations against ballistic missile launchers on Russian territory. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a meeting with journalists on August 22, an LB correspondent reports.
They cannot disclose details of the operation. But it is known that the defenders struck an Iskander launcher near the border.
“I am grateful to our warriors who are carrying this out. This is our operation—hunting their systems that are positioned nearby. That is one of the ways, when our anti-ballistic missiles are limited—there is another tactic, it is more complex, we have developed it—this is hunting their nearby sites from which ballistic missiles are launched. This is a separate story, a separate program, a separate operation. And today we managed to do it. Our Defense Forces did a great job,” said Volodymyr Zelensky.
- Ballistic weapons remain the most difficult to intercept due to a shortage of interceptor missiles. The number of attacks can be reduced by striking the launchers, but such operations are difficult to carry out.
