The 1,642nd day of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine has begun. Overall, 254 combat clashes were recorded over the past day. The highest number was on the Kostiantynivka axis.
Yesterday, Russia carried out two missile strikes using six missiles and 98 air strikes with 329 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the invaders deployed 11,859 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,318 attacks on populated areas and the positions of our troops, the General Staff reported.
Artillery fire hit the settlements of Korenok, Ulanove, Bachivsk, Volfyne, Yastrubshchyna and Luzhky. In addition, an air strike in Sumy region hit the area around the settlement of Potapivka.
On the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk axes on 22 August, defenders repelled 13 enemy assaults. At the same time, the aggressor carried out one air strike using three guided aerial bombs and launched 67 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas, including five using multiple launch rocket systems.
On the Southern Slobozhanshchyna axis, Ukrainian units repelled 21 enemy attacks. The Russians tried to advance in the area of Izbytske, as well as towards Okhrimivka and Volokhivka.
On the Kupiansk axis, the enemy attacked twice towards Zahryzove.
Attempts to break into our defences were repelled on the Lyman axis, where the occupiers attacked nine times in the area of Lyman, as well as towards Stepove, Shyikivka, Kopanky, Novoselivka and Drobyshcheve.
On the Sloviansk axis, the enemy carried out seven assault actions in the areas of Kryva Luka, Zakitne and Ozerne, as well as towards Mykolaivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
On the Kramatorsk axis, the occupiers attacked three times towards the settlements of Minkivka, Yurkivka and Tykhonivka.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, 25 attacks were recorded. The invaders conducted assault operations in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka and Mykolaipillia, as well as towards Novoselivka and Stepanivka.
On the Pokrovsk axis, our defenders stopped 24 attacks. The enemy was active in the areas of Bilytske, Serhiivka, Molodetske and Kotlyne, and also carried out assaults towards Novopavlivka, Shakhove, Kucheriv Yar, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Myrne and Udachne.
On the Oleksandrivka axis, the invaders carried out four attacks towards the settlements of Andriivka-Klevtsove and Nechaivka.
On the Huliaipole axis, the occupiers attacked 15 times in the areas of Hirke, Charivne, Yehorivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Rivne, Dobropillia, Dolynka and Verkhnia Tersa.
On the Orikhiv axis defenders stopped two attempts by the enemy to advance towards Pavlivka.
On the Dnipro axis, the enemy did not conduct assault operations yesterday.
On the Volyn and Polissia axes, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groupings were detected.
“Ukrainian defenders continue the systematic destruction of the enemy, putting up effective resistance along all sections of the front. Overall, over the past day the losses of the Russian invaders amounted to 1,310 personnel. Also neutralised were 26 armoured combat vehicles, 69 artillery systems, one air defence asset, three missiles, one aircraft, eight ground robotic systems, 1,925 unmanned aerial vehicles, one operational-tactical missile system, 415 vehicles and four units of the enemy’s special equipment,” the General Staff said.
Over the past day, aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defence Forces struck three areas where enemy manpower was concentrated, four UAV control points and one command-and-observation post.
