Between 17 and 22 August, the Unmanned Systems Forces, as part of the “Crimean Switch Off” operation, hit 27 energy hubs in Crimea and in the temporarily occupied territories of the South.
This was reported by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Madyar” Brovdi.
Overall, since the start of the operation, which has been ongoing since 1 July, 267 energy hubs have been put out of action. Among the targets Brovdi said were hit were electrical substations, gas distribution stations and gas turbine power plants in Crimea, as well as in the occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
He also reported the strike on the “Taman” electrical substation in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
Separately, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces reported on the progress of the “MoLoChKa” operation, aimed at blocking the movement of Russia’s “shadow fleet” vessels in the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait, as well as restricting traffic in the northern and north-eastern parts of the Black Sea.
During August, the Unmanned Systems Forces struck 36 “shadow fleet” vessels. Since the start of the operation on 6 July through 22 August, 242 such ships have come under attack: 134 in the Sea of Azov and 108 in the Black Sea.
- On the night of 22 August 2026, units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck the facilities of the “Novokuybyshevsk” oil refinery in Russia’s Samara Region, located at a distance of about 900 km.
- Yesterday, units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces hit the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery in Perm, Perm Krai, Russia. A fire was recorded on the company’s premises. The plant is located more than 1,500 kilometres from Ukraine’s border.
