F-Drones is launching a simulator to train FPV operators—on Independence Day, anyone will be able to get free access to the game on Steam. This is reported on the Facebook page of the Ukrainian drone manufacturer.
“We have news: on August 24 we’re launching F-Drones Simulator on Steam. It’s a simulator of combat FPV scenarios for practicing piloting and carrying out missions in conditions as close to real as possible. It features models of our drones, their physics and specifications; results are affected by terrain, battery, radio horizon, communications, electronic warfare, and the drone’s own configuration. On Independence Day, users in Ukraine will be able to get the simulator for free. We’ll lay out exactly how—step by step—on the morning of August 24. Stay tuned,” F-Drones said.
As the company noted, F-Drones added its own drone models, their physics and tactical and technical specifications, developed missions of varying complexity, and also involved military personnel to recreate different communications configurations.
F-Drones also said the simulator will be used to train the military. A limited version will be released on Steam. Separately, there is an expanded non-public version for the military and training centers. It has more features and scenarios that are not available in the public game. The expanded version is provided to verified military units and training centers upon request.
F-Drones CEO Stanislav Khutor told DOU that before hands-on training, pilots need to log at least 10 hours of flight time on a drone. According to Khutor, this is how, among others, the U.S. military will train.
As reported earlier, F-Drones became the first Ukrainian company to export ready-made combat drones to the United States. It has already delivered 2,000 F10 strike FPV drones to the Pentagon under the Drone Dominance project.
