Ukrainian companies MAC HUB and Sky Defenders have signed a memorandum of cooperation and plan to integrate UAVs into the Katran family of naval drones. MAC HUB reported this.
“We already have clear objectives; now we will be able to reach the enemy at a distance of 2,000 kilometres. The plans include strikes against coastal defence, the destruction of Russian radar systems, air defence systems, command personnel and critical infrastructure,” said “Devyatyi”, commander of the Black Sea Legion unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
MAC HUB said it is developing its own solutions for use on land, in the air and at sea, but believes that development within a closed system has limitations. The company therefore cooperates with Ukrainian and international partners.
In June 2026, for example, MAC HUB and Greece-based Paramount Greece expanded their strategic partnership agreement. The companies will jointly develop MAC HUB’s MAC Dead Fly interceptors and Katran naval drones.
Sky Defenders is a Ukrainian defence technology company specialising in combat unmanned systems. Its development team includes a former military UAV pilot and an aerospace engineer, and the solutions they have developed have been used in combat conditions for more than 18 months. The company has active contracts with Ukraine’s Defence Ministry and follows NATO production standards. In almost two years of operation, the Sky Defenders team has developed three UAV models suitable for offensive and defensive operations.
Among the company’s developments is the Zygzag-S tactical fixed-wing strike drone, which is launched from a catapult. According to the manufacturer, the UAV can travel more than 150 km at speeds of up to 250 km/h and carries a 3–5 kg warhead.
The Katran family of unmanned boats developed by MAC HUB is an ecosystem of drones controlled through a single command centre. It ranges from the low-profile Katran X1 reconnaissance drone and tactical FPV carrier equipped with satellite communications terminals to the heavy strike Katran Venom, which can reach speeds of up to 130 km/h. Venom is equipped with artificial intelligence for autonomous target tracking, heavy machine-gun turrets, MANPADS and long-range smart torpedoes.
