Over the 24 hours of 22 August, Russia’s army injured 11 people in Kherson region. The enemy attacked almost four dozen settlements.

Fedorivka, Lymanets, Urozhayne, Bilozerka, Stepne, Kostyrka, Novoraisk, Beryslav, Ulianovka, Mykilske, Inhulivka, Darivka, Chaichyne, Stanislav, Vysokopillia, Novovoznesenske, Ivanivka, Borozenke, Tomyna Balka, Novomykolaivka, Zarichne, Yasna Poliana, Antonivka, Dniprovske, Zymivnyk, Zelenivka, Komyshany, Inhulets, Oleksandrivka, Osokorivka, Sadove, Tiahynka, Shyroka Balka, Novodmytrivka, Sofiivka, Zolota Balka, Rakivka and Kherson were under hostile air strikes, drone terror and artillery shelling. This was reported by the head of the Regional Military Administration, Prokudin.

“Russian troops struck critical and social infrastructure and residential areas of settlements across the region, damaging 11 apartment blocks and 10 private houses. The occupiers also wrecked a petrol station, a mobile phone mast, a shop, a dormitory, warehouse premises and private cars,” he said.

Residents of the region still have the option to evacuate. Those who want to move to safer places can contact the regional contact centre: 0800 101 102 and 0800 330 951.

The head of the city military administration, Yaroslav Shanko, reported that the most dangerous locations in Kherson yesterday, by the number of reports of drone threats, were:

  • seaport/river port
  • Zabalka
  • Tavriiskyi neighbourhood
  • Voienka
  • the village of Antonivka (together with the eastern part)
  • machine-building plant
  • Korabel neighbourhood
  • Shumenskyi neighbourhood
  • Kovsh
  • Independence Avenue
  • Kherson State University
  • the village of Zelenivka
  • Saliut
  • Central Market
  • silicate plant

Three Kherson residents were injured by an enemy drone strike on Mykola Kulish Street in the Korabelnyi district, and two on Surgeon Voronyi Street in the city centre.

Shanko added that the occupiers are stepping up a “hunt” for vehicles using fibre-optic-controlled drones, in particular cars that, by their outward appearance, can be identified as transport used by the Defence Forces. The risks of strikes are increasing near places where cars gather — by supermarkets, markets and petrol stations.

Residents of the community are asked to respond to air-raid warnings, avoid open areas, be especially vigilant at public transport stops, near shops, petrol stations and car parks, and follow the recommendations of the military and emergency services.
