As of 23 August, the number of people injured in a Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih’s largest shopping centre, carried out on 21 August, has risen to 140. A further eight people, including a child, have sought medical assistance. All will be treated as outpatients.
Three people remain missing, including a child, the head of the city’s Defence Council, Vilkul, reported. Five of those previously reported missing have been identified among the dead and the injured in hospitals, and one more woman has made contact.
“As of 07:30, 50 injured people are in hospital, including 13 children. Six of the injured are in a very serious condition, including two children. One adult woman is on a ventilator. Another nine people are in a serious condition, all adults. Doctors are providing them with all the necessary assistance,” the statement said.
Municipal transport, city services, hospitals and social services in Kryvyi Rih continue to operate.
- In the afternoon of 21 August, Russia carried out a double strike on the Sunny Beach shopping centre. Its director has been served with a notice of suspicion because the centre was operating during an air-raid alert.
- The enemy also attacked the Epicentre store in the city. Vilkul reported that the enemy may continue to attack shopping centres in frontline settlements. He urged people to respond immediately to air-raid alerts.
