Kyiv came under drone attack on the morning and during the day on 27 August. The capital has been under attack since the night. 

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that air defence was operating. Residents were urged to remain in shelters.

“Enemy strike drones continue to move erratically through the airspace over Kyiv. Stay in shelters!” the Air Force said.

As a result of the morning attack, there was damage in the Holosiyivskyy and Pecherskyy districts. In the Holosiyivskyy district, a lorry driver was injured. In Pecherskyy, the stadium grounds were affected. 

“In the Pecherskyy district, where an enemy UAV fell in an open area, grass caught fire. Emergency services are working at the scene,” said the city’s mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko.

After the all-clear, a new alert was issued 14 minutes later, at 11:22. After that, an all-clear and a new alert were announced. At 12:22, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that air defence was again operating in the city.

As a result of the daytime attack, the Holosiyivskyy district was affected.

“In the Holosiyivskyy district, in the central part of the city, a UAV fell onto the carriageway. According to preliminary information, one person was injured,” the mayor said. 

At another address in the Holosiyivskyi district, UAV debris fell and the roof of a two-storey non-residential building caught fire.

  • Overnight, two districts were affected by drone and ballistic attacks. In Shevchenkivskyy, a gymnasium and a municipal medical facility were damaged; in Podilskyy, debris fell into the courtyard of residential buildings.
  • Two people were injured in the Region. Significant damage was reported in the Brovary district, where the occupiers struck warehouses. Overall, destruction was recorded in four districts.
