“It Turns Out This Is a Two-Player Game”: Unmanned Systems Forces Strike 21 Energy Sites in Occupied Territories

Fighters expanded the attacks from the occupied south to eastern Ukraine.

Between 26 and 28 August, the Unmanned Systems Forces attacked 21 energy hubs in occupied territory and the Luhansk Thermal Power Plant. This was reported by the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert (Madyar) Brovdi.

He described it as the “East—Giddy-Up” operation, a “branch” of the “Crimean Switch Off” operation. The strikes were carried out after attacks on the CHP plant in Kherson. 

“It turns out this is a two-player game. Winter will be early and dark. In Crimea too,” Madyar commented. 

Over three days, the following were hit in the occupied territory: 

  • Luhansk Thermal Power Plant “Shchastia”, the settlement of Shchastia, Luhansk Region; the strike was carried out by the 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces, the 427th Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces “Rarog”, and the 413th Separate Unit of the Unmanned Systems Forces “Raid
  • Electrical substation PS 220 kV “Alchevska”, Alchevsk, Luhansk Region, UAV Group “Phoenix”
  • Electrical substation PS 150 kV “Tymofiivka”, Tymofiivka, Kherson Region, 412th Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces “Nemesis”

Since the start of the Unmanned Systems Forces’ “Crimean Switch Off” operation on 1 July, the Unmanned Systems Forces have attacked 315 energy hubs in Crimea and other occupied territories.
