Russian forces may intensify sabotage activity in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions in the near future. The redeployment of additional enemy forces to the Chernihiv region is also possible.
State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andrii Demchenko said this during a briefing at Ukrinform.
According to him, there is information that the enemy is building up certain units that could be used for sabotage operations in the directions of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
"The enemy’s sabotage activity may increase somewhat in the near future, because there is certain information that the enemy is currently building up some units that could carry out their sabotage actions in the direction of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions," Demchenko said.
At present, Ukrainian border guards are not recording an increase in enemy infantry groups or units that could more actively assault the positions of Ukrainian troops in these directions.
Demchenko stressed that Ukraine must be prepared for any developments.
"There are many forecasts that the Chernihiv direction is in the enemy’s plans. It remains so. The enemy may be planning to redeploy additional forces there," the State Border Guard Service spokesperson added.
