As of the morning of 17 September, Russian drone attacks and artillery shelling have caused new power outages in Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy and Chernihiv regions.
Ukrenergo said that restoration work is already under way wherever security conditions currently allow. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore power to all consumers as quickly as possible.
Electricity consumption has fallen. Today, 17 September, as of 09:30, it was 2.5% lower than at the same time yesterday. The reason is sunny weather in most regions of Ukraine, which is driving high efficiency in household solar power plants and a corresponding reduction in the amount of electricity drawn from the grid.
Yesterday, 16 September, the daily peak in consumption was recorded in the evening. It was 1.4% higher than the peak on Tuesday.
It is advisable to shift high electricity use today to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently — from 10:00 to 15:00.
Ukrainians are being urged to use electricity sparingly in the evening hours — from 18:00 to 22:00.
