Today, 17 September, the Russian army killed a civilian with a drone in the Chuhuiv district of Kharkiv region.
According to the regional prosecutor’s office, at around 07:40 Russian forces attacked a civilian man with an FPV drone near a public transport stop on the way out of the village of Kotivka in Chuhuiv district.
According to preliminary information, two men were walking along the road towards the village of Berezhne. One of them heard the distinctive sound of an approaching FPV drone and warned the other of the danger. The man crouched on the asphalt by the bus stop, but the drone struck him directly.
He died at the scene from his injuries.
Measures are currently being taken to evacuate the victim’s body.
Under the procedural supervision of the Chuhuiv District Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv region, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the commission of a war crime resulting in a person’s death (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
