Ukraine will carry out a comprehensive review of the public administration system and, if necessary, cut posts in central executive bodies.

This was reported by Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.

“A comprehensive review of the public administration system will be conducted — to identify where functions are duplicated, where there are unnecessary processes, and where there is scope for optimisation. A separate strand is digitalisation. We will review digital governance and the automation of internal processes in central executive bodies... A decision has been taken to review staffing levels in central executive bodies. We will cut redundant vacant posts. We will also review the number of deputy ministers and deputy heads of central executive bodies. Following a detailed analysis, an objective need for staffing levels will be determined in line with the actual volume of the state’s tasks and functions,” the head of government said.

Koretskyi added that there would also be changes in education and the professional development of public administration.

“Approaches to the professional training of civil servants will be changed in line with the state’s modern needs. Responsibility for implementing these measures lies with the relevant ministries and central executive bodies. Managers have received the appropriate instructions. Coordination and oversight of the implementation of the instructions will be carried out by the State Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers, Kostiantyn Marievych,” the Prime Minister concluded.
