Based on materials from the Security Service of Ukraine, an FSB agent who directed Russia’s missile-and-drone attacks on the Khmelnytskyy Region has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

According to the investigation, the Russian agent was exposed in September 2025. He turned out to be a general labourer from Khmelnytskyy, recruited by FSB representatives via Telegram channels where he was looking for “easy” money.
On the Russian special service’s instructions, the man gathered information about defence enterprises and Ukrainian Armed Forces units in Ukraine’s western regions. He walked around the area, covertly photographing the buildings of production workshops which, in his view, might be fulfilling orders for the Ukrainian army.
The agent marked the collected data on Google Maps and sent screenshots to his Russian handler via a messaging app.
In addition, at night the man filmed the aftermath of previous Russian attacks on his phone and passed these materials to an FSB representative. According to the SBU, the Russians used the information to prepare repeat combined strikes.
Law enforcement officers documented the agent’s activities step by step. He was detained while filming a potential target. During a search, officers seized a smartphone containing evidence of cooperation with the FSB.
The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — high treason committed under martial law.
The investigation was conducted by SBU officers in the Khmelnytskyy Region under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
