Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to a new report by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, which documents cases of sexual violence in the context of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.

This is stated in the Foreign Ministry’s statement.

The report covers the period from 24 February 2022 to 31 July 2026. It sets out documented cases of sexual violence committed by Russian troops and other representatives of the occupying forces.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said the documented facts demonstrate the seriousness and scale of the problem.

“Russia continues to use sexual violence as a tool of war and intimidation against the Ukrainian population,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said.

The ministry stressed the need to hold those responsible to account and to ensure justice for survivors.

“Ukraine will continue to work with international partners to document Russia’s crimes and ensure the inevitability of punishment for all those involved,” the Foreign Ministry’s statement said.

The ministry also noted that the international community must continue to increase pressure on Russia and support Ukraine in investigating war crimes.
