The Security Service of Ukraine has for the second time today successfully deployed a new Ukrainian interceptor drone.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on social media.
Fighters from the SBU’s military counter-intelligence struck a Russian jet-powered "Geran-5" drone. The head of state thanked the servicemen for their accuracy.
What happened beforehand?
Today, 18 September, the head of the SBU, Oleksandr Poklad, informed President Zelenskyy about the development and successful use of a new interceptor drone for jet-powered "Shahed" drones.
The day before, the head of state said that interceptor drones for jet-powered UAVs from two companies had successfully passed combat trials. Ukraine aims to move to mass production of such interceptors, and funding is currently being sought.
