Denmark has decided to provide Ukraine with an extraordinary military aid package worth $275m. The funds will be used, in particular, to bolster Ukraine’s air defences ahead of the autumn and winter period.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence.

The new aid package was agreed earlier this week by the defence ministers of Ukraine and Denmark.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence emphasised Denmark’s role in supporting Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

“Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Denmark has remained one of the leading countries in providing military assistance to Ukraine and has consistently developed new effective formats of co-operation,” the ministry said.

The new package will add to the military support Denmark has already provided to Ukraine. The total amount of assistance from the kingdom since the start of the full-scale war stands at $11.8bn, excluding support channelled through the European Union.
