A new wave of Russian shelling of filling stations has not affected fuel prices. Ukrnafta CEO Bohdan Kukura said this in an interview with LB.ua.
Price fluctuations for petrol, diesel and automotive gas are largely the result of external factors, as Ukraine is entirely dependent on fuel imports.
“Fuel prices at our filling station complexes depend first and foremost on purchase prices on European markets, from which we import it, and on global price trends,” says Bohdan Kukura.
Ukrnafta added that more than a dozen stations in the network that were attacked by drones have already returned to operation. The company stressed that the immediate priority is to restore the filling stations’ core function — selling fuel.
“We are also considering restoring the complexes damaged by Russian strikes in Kyiv. The timeframe and cost of the work depend on the scale of the destruction and the condition of the equipment at each site. We determine them based on the results of inspections,” the head of Ukrnafta’s management board noted.
The company also reminded that the network’s filling stations in Kyiv suspend operations during all levels of danger, including yellow (the threat of attack drones). After the siren sounds, staff and visitors must immediately leave the stations.
- Since the beginning of September, the Russians have damaged around a dozen Ukrnafta filling stations, a significant proportion of which are located in Kyiv. The filling station network has begun installing physical protection around the sites to safeguard both station staff and consumers from the consequences of shelling.
