Ukrainian company Tencore LLC has unveiled a recovery module for its TerMIT uncrewed ground vehicle. The manufacturer reported this on Facebook.
The company said it is designed to recover equipment that has become bogged down in mud, hit a mine, or lost communications. The module is a crane system with a winch mounted at the rear of the UGV. It is fitted with a boom through which runs a cable with a hook used to attach equipment for recovery.
“TerMIT’s low centre of gravity makes it an ideal tow vehicle, so it can handle, quite literally, heavy cases,” Tencore said.
The base TerMIT 2.0 platform is an upgraded version of Tencore’s tracked ground robotic system. According to the company, it has a range of up to 40 km and a top speed of 15 km/h. Depending on the tasks assigned, the TerMIT UGV is produced in different configurations. There are platforms for medical evacuation, logistics tasks, area mining, and transporting additional equipment. TerMIT can also serve as a carrier for combat modules.
TerMIT can carry up to 300 kg. Thanks to its squat silhouette, low centre of gravity and tracks, this ground robot can move across different types of terrain and surfaces: harsh off-road conditions, steep slopes, overcoming obstacles, moving through trenches, and so on. According to Tencore, more than 3,000 TerMIT UGVs have already been deployed in Ukraine and are being used by more than 50 brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
