The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Oleksiy Reva as Deputy Minister of Defence for digital development, digital transformation and digitalisation. The Defence Ministry reported this on 24 September.
Reva will be responsible for developing digital systems and services for the Defence Forces and introducing technologies that simplify processes in the military and support service personnel. He has experience working in the ministry’s IT sector: he took part in creating the Army+ app, the Impulse digital system for tracking service members, and led project teams.
“Oleksiy Reva’s experience and expertise will make it possible to expand the digitalisation of key processes in the military. Priorities include the continued development of Army+, Reserve+ and the DELTA combat system. An important stage in the Defence Forces’ digitalisation strategy should be opening up the market for IT products. This will make it possible to involve Ukraine’s IT industry more broadly in creating digital solutions and shorten the path from service members’ needs to development and practical use in the military,” the ministry commented on the appointment.
From July last year, the Deputy Minister of Defence for digitalisation was Oksana Ferchuk. She now heads the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
