The Ukraine Relief, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform Trust Fund (URTF) has raised $2.8bn in grant funding from donor countries.
This was discussed at a meeting between Ukraine’s Deputy Finance Minister Olha Zykova, the World Bank’s Director for Eastern European countries Bob Saum, and representatives of 13 partner states.
The Finance Ministry’s press service reported that, of the amount raised, $1.8bn has already been directed towards rebuilding critical infrastructure and restoring essential services. In addition, the platform’s work has helped unlock a further $8.9bn in associated financing, including $4.8bn in private capital.
Thanks to these funds, Ukraine’s preparations for the winter period in the energy and housing sectors are continuing.
In addition, 34 transformers and 124 specialist vehicles have been purchased and delivered for Ukrenergo, and protective structures are being built at 25 sites. To decentralise heat supply in Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Mykolaiv, Kremenchuk, Sumy, Chernihiv and Slavuta, cogeneration units and modular boiler houses are being installed.
In the housing sector, almost 170,000 Ukrainian families have received compensation under the eVidnovlennia programme using the fund’s resources. At the same time, documentation is being prepared in Bucha, Makariv, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia for major repairs to more than 200 multi-storey residential buildings.
URTF grant funding is also being directed towards restoring transport and logistics, supporting small farmers, and strengthening the healthcare and education systems, as well as the private sector.
