Since the start of 28 September, four people have been injured in Kyiv as a result of Russian drone terror, according to information from the State Emergency Service. The city’s mayor had reported three casualties, all in the Podilskyy district.
A 15-year-old boy and girl were treated at the scene, while another casualty, a 17-year-old girl, was taken to hospital, Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said.
In a Facebook post, rescuers said a non-residential building in the Podilskyy district was damaged. A fire broke out, and the roof was damaged. The Russians carried out a second strike, which hit a neighbouring building. Three people were injured there.
In the Obolonskyy district, the Russians attacked a petrol station. A fire broke out. In the Shevchenkivskyy district, a UAV struck an office building.
“In the Holosiyivskyy district, a UAV hit a café near a petrol station. Emergency services are heading to the scene,” the mayor said.
There was also a strike on a private home in the same area. One person was injured.
In the Darnytskyy district, a fire broke out in an open area after a drone fell.
Russia is attacking the city around the clock with jet-powered drones, which are significantly harder to shoot down than earlier versions of Shahed-type UAVs. Yesterday, Russia injured nine people in the Ukrainian capital, and one person was killed. Two more people died in the suburbs as a result of a strike on the Stolichnyy market.
The Russian military has been using a new tactic of continuous drone attacks in small waves since 27 August.
