Ukraine continues reforming the coal industry. The government has decided to transfer 12 integrated property complexes of state enterprises from the management of the Ministry of Energy to the State Property Fund.

This was reported by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.

Among the enterprises transferred are the state enterprises “Lvivvuhillia”, “Volynvuhillia”, “Ukrvuhillia” and other companies that are currently located in temporarily occupied territory.

The Ministry of Energy, together with the State Property Fund, will begin work to find an effective private investor for state-owned mines.

According to Shmyhal, the aim is to increase the efficiency of state coal production, boost private investment in the sector and improve its financial position.

At the same time, the state will continue to support miners. The Ministry of Energy supports the need to preserve all social guarantees, including those relating to reserving employees from mobilisation.

The relevant budget requests have been sent to the Ministry of Finance and included in the draft State Budget for 2027.
