In the Sumy region, two civilians were killed and seven others injured over the past day as a result of Russian shelling.
This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
In the Shostka community, a 47-year-old man was killed when a Russian UAV struck, and a 41-year-old man was injured.
In the Seredyna-Buda community, a 50-year-old man was killed in an attack by a Russian drone. A 71-year-old woman was also injured in a UAV strike.
In the Sumy community, at least five people were injured in strikes by guided aerial bombs. The consequences of the attack are still being clarified.
Over the past day, from the morning of 3 October to the morning of 4 October, Russian forces carried out nearly 80 attacks on 30 settlements across 16 territorial communities in the region. The highest number of attacks was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
The communities hit were Sumy, Mykolaivka Rural, Stepanivka, Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Yunakivka, Richky, Seredyna-Buda, Hlukhiv, Esman, Khutir-Mykhailivskyi, Shostka, Svesa, Putyvl, Novoslobidske and Velyka Pysarivka.
Russian forces used artillery, mortars, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs.
The shelling damaged and destroyed civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, non-residential premises and vehicles.
In particular, in the Sumy community, blocks of flats, civilian infrastructure, non-residential premises and cars were damaged. In the Mykolaivka Rural community, a civilian infrastructure facility and a private house were damaged, and a car was destroyed.
In the Khutir-Mykhailivskyi community, a non-residential building was damaged; in Krasnopillia, a civilian infrastructure facility; and in Putyvl, a residential house was destroyed. In the Stepanivka community, a lorry was damaged, and in Richky, a private house.
In the Shostka community, a private household and equipment were damaged; in Hlukhiv, residential buildings. In the Seredyna-Buda community, a block of flats, a civilian infrastructure facility and a walk-behind tractor were damaged, and residential houses were also destroyed.
In the Svesa community, an outbuilding was destroyed; in Esman, a residential house. In the Znob-Novhorodske community, a residential house was destroyed as a result of earlier shelling.
Over the past day, the air-raid alert in the Sumy region lasted 18 hours and 19 minutes.
