Ukrainian defence companies Roboneers and Partner-VS will integrate the remotely operated ‘Shablya’ combat module on the Vepr UGV. This is reported by the outlet Oboronka, citing Roboneers’ press service.
The companies plan to integrate the following versions of the module:
- ‘Shablya 7.62’ for 7.62 mm machine guns of the PKT type;
- ‘Shablya M240’ for M240 machine guns of the same calibre;
- ‘Shablya K-2’ with two AK-74 rifles;
- ‘Shablya M2’ for 12.7 mm Browning M2, Canik M2 and MG-50 QCB machine guns;
- ‘Shablya MK 19(M)’ for 40 mm automatic grenade launchers of the MK19 and AGL-53 types.
Roboneers explains that the aim is to create a mobile combat platform that can be fitted with weapons depending on the specific mission. Roboneers notes that once Vepr is integrated with the ‘Shablya’, the platform will be able to carry out not only logistics and evacuation tasks, but also combat missions. The robot is intended to enter dangerous areas, while an operator at a distance controls its movement and fire.
The integrated ‘Shablya’ combat modules can operate at a distance of up to 100 metres from the operator or via Wi-Fi. They are equipped with обзорова, aiming and thermal imaging cameras, enabling the operator to control the platform remotely and employ the mounted weapons.
As a separate advantage, the developers cite Starlink support in both systems. According to them, this provides a digital channel for remote control of both the UGV itself and the combat module.
The Vepr UGV was developed by Partner-VS as a logistics-and-evacuation ground robotic complex. In June 2026, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence codified it and authorised it for use in the Defence Forces.
Vepr measures 136 cm in length and 112 cm in width, and its height with the mast is 138 cm. According to the manufacturer, the robot’s curb weight is about 400 kg, and its payload capacity is up to 250 kg.
The developers note that the complex is equipped with two electric motors rated at 1,500 W each. They provide a speed of more than 12 km/h, and the batteries are sufficient for almost 40 km of travel. For control and data acquisition, Vepr is fitted with digital cameras and supports six types of communications, including LTE and Starlink.
By way of reminder, in September Roboneers codified the ‘ShaRys PRO Mk.19 (M)’ combat UGV. The complex is supplied as a ready-to-use combat system, comprising the platform, a remotely operated module and weapons. The ‘Shablya Mk.19 (M)’ can use the Ukrainian-made 40 mm AGL-53 automatic grenade launcher, as well as the MK19 or its equivalent. The stated effective engagement range is up to 1,500 metres.
