Ukraine’s autumn sowing campaign for winter crops for the 2027 harvest is under way. Farmers have already sown 2,520.2 thousand hectares with winter cereals, which is almost half of the forecast area (48.4%).
This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
The largest areas were sown with winter wheat and triticale — 2,252.5 thousand hectares (49.6% of the forecast). Barley was sown on 209.9 thousand hectares (35.4%), and rye on 57.8 thousand hectares (75.3%).
The rapeseed sowing campaign is virtually complete, with 1,040.9 thousand hectares already planted — almost 95% of the forecast area.
By sown area of winter cereals, Mykolaiv region leads with 368.8 thousand hectares, followed by Dnipropetrovsk region with 284.6 thousand hectares, and Poltava region with 200.1 thousand hectares.
- In September, Ukraine exported 2.4 million tonnes of agricultural produce, which is 46% of the potentially required export volume.
