In the Konotop district of the Sumy region, two 14-year-old boys were killed when a munition they had found detonated.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported this.
The children came across an explosive object in a field, after which it detonated.
They died at the scene from the severe injuries they sustained.
"Our frontline region lives every day under conditions of high security risks. In addition to constant enemy attacks, there remains a serious danger of coming across explosive objects. Such finds often pose a deadly threat," the administration said.
- Earlier, in the Seredyna-Buda community of the Sumy region, two local residents were killed during the day as a result of the detonation of explosive objects. One other person was injured.
